Recently, the Malayalam hit film ‘Bromance’ was also released on OTT among the latest releases. Now, Sony Liv has brought the Telugu dubbed version of this movie for streaming. Let’s see how this film fares in the review.

Story:
Shinto (Shyam Mohan) and Binto (Mathew Thomas) are brothers. Binto is portrayed as a short-tempered young man who is excessively addicted to his mobile phone. One day, Binto learns from Shinto’s friend Shabir (Arjun Ashokan) that Shinto has gone missing. How did his brother disappear? Who is behind it? What are the plans and decisions Binto makes to find his brother? Did he finally manage to unravel the suspense? To know the answers, you need to watch the movie.
Plus Points:
Mathew Thomas has delivered a commendable performance in this film. He has showcased good shades as a youngster addicted to his mobile phone and has also effectively portrayed the emotions he has for his brother. Additionally, some interesting comedy scenes featuring him are good in the movie.
Similarly, Sangeeth Prathap has also given a solid performance in this film. Most of the scenes involving him are entertaining. Along with them, Mahima Nambiar and Kalabhavan Shajohn, among others, have done justice to their roles. The comedy scenes and some suspenseful thriller moments involving them are largely good in the narrative.

Minus Points:
The major drawback of this film is its story. The concept lacks significant depth. Consequently, the narrative doesn’t maintain much interest either. Besides this, the comedy feels okay at some points, but quite forced at others.
Also, the climax episode doesn’t create much impact. A film that starts with an interesting note and seems to be picking up pace suddenly shifts its narrative and ends up feeling weak. The director’s attempt to balance suspense with humor doesn’t feel very balanced.
Furthermore, many of the characters introduced in the narrative feel somewhat boring. Once the story shifts to Bangalore, the interest diminishes further. Additionally, Shyam Mohan and Kalabhavan could have performed better.
Technical Aspects:
The production values of this film are good. The Telugu dubbing is also well done. Govind Vasantha’s music is good. The cinematography is fine, but the editing could have been better. Regarding director Arun D Jose, he planned a balancing act of comedy, adventure, and thriller, but it needed more hard work. Many scenes could have been designed better. Due to the failure to try these aspects more effectively, the movie becomes dull.
Verdict:
Overall, ‘Bromance’ can be described as just an average comedy-adventure drama. The performances of Sangeeth Prathap and Mathew Thomas are the main highlights of this film. However, the narrative needed to be stronger. So, it would be better to try another film on OTT.
