What’s the Story?

Chitra Aravindan (Siddharth) and his friends raise awareness by (Indian 2 Movie Review)making videos on YouTube about the corruption and injustices happening in society. Due to certain incidents, social media posts start calling for the return of Bharateeyudu (Indian). Bharateeyudu (Kamal Haasan), who fought against corruption and injustice in India 25 years ago, returns to India. He mercilessly kills those involved in severe corruption and looting public money. He motivates the youth with patriotic feelings. A tragic event occurs in Chitra Aravindan’s (Siddharth) life, and everyone blames Bharateeyudu for it. Why are common people angry with Bharateeyudu? What harm did he cause them? What is Bharateeyudu’s goal? These questions form the rest of the story.

How is the Movie?

Director Shankar starts the movie very interestingly by discussing how corruption and illegal activities are increasing day by day in the country. The youth desire the return of Bharateeyudu, and the hashtag #ComebackIndian trends on social media, bringing Kamal’s character onto the screen. Kamal’s entry, where he kills a businessman living a luxurious life abroad after defaulting on bank loans, is impressive. The actual story begins from there.

Shankar has shown Bharateeyudu’s journey of eliminating corrupt individuals in the country very well. Although hero Siddharth’s track is impressive, some scenes remind you of Chiranjeevi’s Tagore. The mother sentiment could have been written more emotionally. The cartoon track exposing the corruption of politicians and officials in the country elevates the movie well. The animation visuals during the “Breaking Dogs” sequence are impressive. The shots revealed in the climax hinting at the third part are also impressive. How Did Everyone Perform?

Director Shankar has made an effort to thoughtfully explain the corruption and injustices prevalent in today’s society. This movie, with its grand casting and excellent(Indian 2 Movie Review) visual effects, provides a good experience for the audience. Kamal Haasan mesmerizes with his acting as Senapathi (Bharateeyudu). His mannerisms and looks are amazing. Especially in the action sequences, his style provides good entertainment for the audience.

Siddharth has lived the role of Chitra Aravindan. He impresses with his acting suitable for the role. SJ Suryah blends well into his role as Sakalakala Vallavan Sargunam Pandian. Bobby Simha impresses with his natural acting as CBI officer Pramod. Rakul Preet Singh impresses with both her glamour and acting. Samuthirakani, Priya Bhavani Shankar, Gulshan Grover, and Vivek have performed well within the scope of their roles.

Technically:

Indian 2 is very high on the technical front. Ravi Varman’s cinematography elevates the scenes well. The cameraman’s work in some key scenes is excellent. Anirudh Ravichander’s music is average, not up to the mark. Editor A. Sreekar Prasad’s editing is good. Producers Subaskaran Allirajah and Udhayanidhi Stalin have not compromised on production values. Director Shankar has portrayed the story he envisioned well, although the screenplay does not impress much.

Critics’ Choice on Indian 2 Movie Review

The sequel lacks freshness in terms of plot and characters. Even though the story is based on contemporary events, it lacks novelty. As a result, the routine screenplay does not thrill the audience who come with expectations. On the other hand, many scenes are dedicated to exposing the corrupt politicians in the country. However, there are not many scenes showing what Bharateeyudu does against corruption, which is disappointing. The absence of Rahman’s music and BGM is noticeable. Anirudh’s music did not impress much.

Despite high expectations, ‘Indian 2’ manages to impress Kamal Haasan’s fans. Shankar’s visual effects and Kamal Haasan’s performance are positives for the movie.
