Mass Maharaja Ravi Teja and young heroine Bhagyashree Borse’s movie “Mr. Bachchan” has been released worldwide today. Directed by Harish Shankar, this film created a significant buzz before its release. The romantic songs between Bhagyashree Borse and Ravi Teja generated a lot of interest among the youth. Following super hit movies like “Shock” and “Mirapakay,” this new collaboration between Ravi Teja and Harish Shankar raised expectations for “Mr. Bachchan.”
The already released trailer, teaser, and promotional images heightened the anticipation for the movie. Did this film meet the audience’s expectations? Did Ravi Teja make a comeback after a series of flops? What magic did Bollywood beauty Bhagyashree Borse create with her charm? Let’s explore these aspects in the Pitta Kathalu review.
Storyline
Mr. Bachchan (Ravi Teja) works as an officer in the Income Tax Department and is known for his honesty. One day, he conducts a raid on a corrupt tobacco businessman, which leads to his suspension due to the anger (Mr Bachchan Review)of the officials. After losing his job, Mr. Bachchan returns to his hometown, Kotipalli, where he falls in love with Jikki (Bhagyashree Borse). As he prepares for marriage, Mr. Bachchan receives a call from the Income Tax Department to rejoin his job.
His next raid is at the residence of MP Muthyam Jaggayya (Jagapathi Babu), a man who even officials fear. How Mr. Bachchan carries out the raid at Jaggayya’s house, the challenges he faces, and the outcome of his relationship with Jikki form the rest of the story.
How is the Movie?
The first half of “Mr. Bachchan” flows in a very classy manner, with Ravi Teja portrayed as a perfect professional. The film engages with a mix of wedding scenes and income tax raids. The hero’s return to his hometown, his comedy track with friends, and the love track with the heroine are well-executed. The movie takes a significant turn(Mr Bachchan Review) when the hero goes for an income tax raid at the villain’s house during the interval scene. Overall, the first half is entertaining. In the second half, the hero’s elevation scenes, especially the action episodes, stand out. Ravi Teja’s dialogues provide a solid mass appeal to the audience.
Direction:
Harish Shankar focused more on Ravi Teja’s characterization than on the story itself. After showing Ravi Teja in an energetic role in “Mirapakay,” Harish Shankar attempts a similar portrayal in “Mr. Bachchan.” The film largely revolves around the romance between Ravi Teja and Bhagyashree Borse and her glamour. Jagapathi Babu’s character is also well-designed. Overall, Harish Shankar adapted the core point from the original film to suit the taste of the Telugu audience. However, the Harish Shankar mark seen in the first half seems to fade in the second half, with the story mainly revolving around an IT raid, which may feel a bit tedious. The villain’s character could have been developed further for a stronger impact.
Performances:
Speaking of performances in “Mr. Bachchan,” Ravi Teja has made a comeback with this movie. He looks powerful as an income tax officer and impresses with his signature comic timing, reminiscent of his earlier roles. Bhagyashree Borse, despite being a newcomer, dazzles with her glamour, especially in the songs, adding to the film’s appeal. Siddhu Jonnalagadda shines in his guest role, while Jagapathi Babu, though appearing briefly, delivers a strong performance as the villain. Comedian Satya’s track is entertaining, and the supporting cast, including Tanikella Bharani, Sachin Khedekar, Gautami, and Praveen, performs well within their roles.
Technical Aspects:
On the technical front, the movie excels in many areas. The real hero of this film is Mickey J. Meyer, who has provided catchy tunes that complement the storyline. Songs like “Reppal Dappal,” “Jikki,” “Sitar,” and “Nallanchu Tella Cheera” are not only enjoyable to listen to but also visually appealing. The cinematography by Ayananka Bose and (Mr Bachchan Review)the background music by Mickey J. Meyer are impressive, enhancing the overall viewing experience.
Verdict: “Mr. Bachchan” entertains both the youth and the general audience.
