The Host Review
You might have heard the name “Bong-Joon Ho” before. No? That’s the “Parasite” director. He made some really good films even before winning an Oscar. Among them, one stands out: “The Host.” It starts with a bizarre creature attacking people living in the Han River area of Seoul, the capital of South Korea. (Movies like The Host)It’s quite engaging, and even before fully delving into the story, it can convince you quite convincingly. But from there, the movie goes on with great interest. They encounter many difficulties, face a lot of sacrifices because of a family that has gone wrong, and the extent of their suffering is depicted in this movie.
However, despite the intense emotions in this movie, it doesn’t leave you feeling burdened or scared at the end. It makes you laugh many times and also makes you ponder at times. “Bong-Joon Ho” movies like “Bong-Bong” have a definite social message. In this movie, the director highlights the flaws in society satirically. Why does a family with athletic potential, living right next to a road filled with huge economic establishments, struggle to survive? When the country faces urgent situations, why do jobs and doctors make more efforts to solve the problem? In small scenes like these, they explained a lot wonderfully, as if explaining a chemical reaction that happened on the ground. And the dialogue between the two in-laws, who are struggling without a house, makes you think deeply. Narrative-Taking: Although the narrative may seem new and engaging, it appears engaging. Already, it is understood where the target audience is, so we also wait for that target, which is why it doesn’t seem boring. There is a reverse bonding between the family members who are accustomed to cheating and those who are accustomed to being cheated.
There are genuine emotions. They bravely do things to save each other, which amazes you. The distorted creature graphics disappoint you. Otherwise, you should remember that this movie was released in 2006. Designing a creature at this stage was a big deal. However, this creature has new designs and movements, at least. If you feel like feeding it on one side, the opposite sympathy for that creature also emerges. After all, we have adapted it, haven’t we, because of the chemical reactions we have done, right? And should there be food for such a creature, otherwise who else will eat when humans stop eating, is a thought that arises. Even small children playing with the creature in their hands on the small screen will excite you to the fullest… Laughing, wiping tears, and closing your eyes, this movie is now available on YouTube in Telugu. So don’t be lazy, go watch it now.
